Overview

Specialized clerical and support services work for the Department of Public Safety. Requires technical, department and program knowledge. Operates under detailed procedural guidelines. Positions generally require significant interaction with the general public, service providers, or other agencies and departments. Work is performed under the supervision of a Station Commander.

PUBLIC SAFETY BACKGROUND CHECKS: Candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position to include Motor Vehicle/Criminal Records, Personal History, Credit and any additional background check(s).
 

Environmental Factors

Incumbents must be able to function under stress and be able to work rotating shifts when required. Incumbents may be the sole person in the office during certain hours and certain shifts.

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent AND two (2) years or more of office clerical experience.

OR

High School diploma or equivalent including completion of a one-year vocational/technical training program in business and office occupations or related area AND one (1) year or more of office clerical experience.

OR

Two years or more of full-time college coursework or an associate degree or higher.

Special Requirements


Candidates selected for appointment to this class may be required to achieve a security clearance conducted by the Department of Public Safety.
