Overview

Vermont Emergency Management is seeking a detail-oriented Training Administrator that is skilled in developing and delivering training programs and has experience in Emergency Management. The Training Administrator serves as the Learning Management System Database Administrator for the Department of Public Safety, so experience with databases and excellent customer service skills are a must. This position will frequently need to work nights and weekends, and will serve in the State’s Emergency Operations Center.

PUBLIC SAFETY BACKGROUND CHECKS: Candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position to include Motor Vehicle/Criminal Records, Personal History, Credit and any additional background check(s).

Class Definition

This position develops, delivers, and facilitates training to build and enhance the Core Capabilities within Vermont. This position serves as the Learning Management System (LMS) database administrator for the Department of Public Safety.

Work is performed under the supervision of the VEM Engagement Section Chief.

Environmental Factors

Duties are performed in office and classroom settings. Frequent work schedule changes are required, including evening and weekend coverage. Some in-state and out-of-state travel is required Incumbents must possess a valid Vermont driver's license.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree AND one (1) or more years of experience in coordinating and providing training, INCLUDING working with multi-discipline audiences in the planning process for identification and delivery of training.

OR

Associate's degree AND three (3) or more years of experience in coordinating and providing training, INCLUDING working with multi-discipline audiences in the planning process for identification and delivery of training. 

OR

High school graduation or equivalent AND five (5) years or more of experience in coordinating and providing training, INCLUDING working with multi-discipline audiences in the planning process for identification and delivery of training.

Preferred Qualifications

Instructor level experience with multi-discipline audiences.
Experience with electronic Learning Management Systems.

Special Requirements

Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
Must be certified as an Incident Command System instructor or obtain this certification within one year of hire.
Applicants are subject to a security clearance and background check by the Department of Public Safety.
