Overview

This VCIC Auditor position involves auditing, program training, and support of qualified agencies that receive criminal history data for licensing and employment purposes. This includes (but is not limited to) both national fingerprint supported criminal history record checks and state level conviction data. Teleworking options may be available upon the completion of initial training and probationary period.

Environmental Factors

Duties are performed primarily in a standard office setting, but with regular field travel to conduct audits or training which may require private means of transportation.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in criminal justice, physical sciences, social sciences, business, education, or related field.

OR

Four (4) or more years of administrative experience in an environment that involves records management or the auditing of data quality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a criminal justice environment is highly preferred
  • Experience with development and delivery of training curriculum
  • Documented experience as a subject matter expert or proficient user of the identified program(s) within the last five (5) years. (i.e. NCIC, NIBRS, CCH, etc.)
  • Experience using current records management systems (RMS) such as Spillman and/or Valcour.
  • Experience using OpenFox Messenger, and/or GLINK.
  • Experience conducting audit procedures.
  • College degree or education in Criminal Justice, Business Administration or Statistical Analysis.

Special Requirements

  • A current NCIC Full-Service Terminal Operator (FSTO) certification. If not currently certified as a FSTO must be capable of successfully obtaining an FSTO certification within six months of employment. Certification must be maintained throughout employment in this position.
  • Candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position to include Security Clearance, finger-print supported Criminal Records, Motor Vehicle records, Personal History, Credit and any additional background check(s).
