Overview

The Department of Vermont Health Access (DVHA) is seeking a motivated, self-starting individual with strong interpersonal and writing skills to join our service-driven Member and Provider Services Unit.

The Provider Relations Specialist position has the following responsibilities:
·    Analytical and administrative work for the Member and Provider Services team.  
·    Interaction with contracted Vermont Medicaid network providers and members to assist with the resolution of escalated matters. 
·    Works closely with policy and clinical staff, other departments, contractors, and stakeholders to assist with implementing federal and state rules and policies of the Vermont Medicaid program.  
·    Assists with communication, both written and oral, to the provider community of new, existing, and changing policy standards and requirements.
·    Understanding of the federal rule regarding the Medicaid provider enrollment screening process requirements. Specifically, accurately assess the site visit requirements for categorically at-risk providers. In-state travel will be necessary at times.
·    Other duties as assigned unit manager.

Environmental Factors

Duties are performed largely in an office setting although some field travel may be necessary, for which private means of transportation must be available.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree AND three (3) years or more of work experience that includes: (a) outreach, recruitment or marketing for a program or service; (b) facilitation of healthcare services such as obtaining medical documentation or referring clients for care; and (c) interpretation, application, and explanation of complex policies or regulations.

Associate's degree OR completion of two (2) years of college and five (5) years or more of work experience that includes: (a) outreach, recruitment or marketing for a program or service; (b) facilitation of healthcare services such as obtaining medical documentation or referring clients for care; and (c) interpretation, application, and explanation of complex policies or regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with the medical community

Experience giving presentations, electronically and in person

Experience managing multi-faceted projects
