Overview

The Application & Document Processing Center receives documents from applicants seeking health care coverage and/or economic assistance. We put their documents into an electronic case management system for Program Specialists to determine their eligibility. Primary Job duties of the Program Services Clerk position involve sorting and opening mail to create batches of documents that can be scanned and digitally imaged, as well as other various clerical tasks.  Position does not have the option to tele-work

AHS BACKGROUND CHECKS:  Candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position.  In accordance with AHS Policy 4.02, Hiring Standards, Vermont and/or national criminal record checks, as well as DMV and adult and child abuse registry checks, as appropriate to the position under recruitment, will be conducted on candidates, with the exception of those who are current classified state employees seeking transfer, promotion or demotion into an AHS classified position or are persons exercising re-employment (RIF) rights.

Environmental Factors

Duties are performed primarily in a standard office setting but occasional travel may be required, for which private means of transportation must be available.

Considerable interaction with clients and the general public may be anticipated. Some pressure from deadlines may occur.

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent AND two (2) years or more of office clerical experience.

OR

Completion of a one-year vocational/technical training program in business and office occupations or related area AND one (1) year or more of office clerical experience.

OR

Two years or more of full-time college coursework OR an associate's degree or higher.
