Overview

The Agency of Digital Services (ADS) is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join ADS's Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) as an IT Project Manager level IV.  The EPMO is a centralized division comprised of IT Project Managers and IT Business Analysts providing a range of services to partner Agencies across the State of Vermont (SoV) Executive branch. This position will be predominately be focused on IT Projects supporting the Agency of Human Services (AHS). We have standard work schedule of Monday through Friday, 7:45am-4:30pm with some flexibility in these hours.

As an IT Project Manager, you will monitor and manage the scope, schedule and budget of your projects in agile/scrum, hybrid or traditional waterfall settings such as the specific project requires. Other responsibilities include: completing and maintaining project management deliverables, such as, the Project Charter, Project Schedule, Issue and risk logs, and providing effective and timely communications and project status reports to the Project Sponsor, Project Team, Stakeholders and other interested parties.

Our ideal candidate is self-motivated, able to work under pressure to meet deadlines, is very customer service oriented, and has excellent verbal and written communication skills.  He/she brings a solid understanding of project management standards as defined by the Project Management Institute (PMI), as well as the agile manifesto and scrum techniques. The ideal candidate has basic to proficient skills in the use of Microsoft project, and has experience successfully managing medium to large sized technology projects.

This position, IT Project Manager IV, Human Services (Job Requisition #2996), is open to all State employees and external applicants. It is a Limited Service position, which is non-tenured and authorized for a specific period of time. Limited Service positions are established for specially funded projects or programs.

AHS BACKGROUND CHECKS: This position will primarily support a department within the Agency of Human Services. Candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position.  In accordance with AHS Policy 4.02, Hiring Standards, Vermont and/or national criminal record checks, as well as DMV and adult and child abuse registry checks, as appropriate to the position under recruitment, will be conducted on candidates, with the exception of those who are current classified state employees seeking transfer, promotion or demotion into an AHS classified position or are persons exercising re-employment (RIF) rights.

A fingerprint-supported background check may be required based on the assigned job duties and location.

Environmental Factors

Work is performed in a standard office setting, but some travel may be required for which private means of transportation should be available. Work outside of regular business hours may be expected.

Minimum Qualifications

Five (5) years or more of experience in the field of information technology where the primary role was project manager.

OR

Certification as a Project Management Professional AND three (3) years or more of experience in the field of information technology where the primary role was project manager.
