The Department of Mental Health is searching for a Financial Administrator III who can work independently and has excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as extensive Excel knowledge. This high-level accounting position will require experience in budget analysis and accounts receivables. Individuals with hospital billing and electronic health record experience is preferred but not required. 
The Department of Mental Health currently operates in a hybrid working environment and telework is applied for on an individual basis.

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent AND five (5) years or more of professional experience in accounting involving maintaining, reviewing, and analyzing accounting or financial data and records to ensure compliance with accepted accounting practices and standards.


Associate's degree in accounting, business administration, office administration or a related field AND four (4) years of professional experience in accounting, maintaining, reviewing, analyzing and accounting or financial data and records to ensure compliance with accepted accounting practices and standards

Bachelor's degree in accounting AND one (1) year of accounting experience maintaining, reviewing, analyzing and accounting or financial data and records to ensure compliance with accepted accounting practices and standards
Two (2) year as a Financial Administrator II with the State of Vermont.

NOTE: CPA certificate is considered qualifying.

For some positions preference may be given to applicants with supervisory experience.

Special Requirements

For some positions experience working with the VISION system (VISION is the State of Vermont PeopleSoft financial management system)may be required.
