Overview

Economic Services Division is seeking an Operations Director to join our team. Our ideal candidate will have extensive experience coordinating programs with community partners and state agencies, including identifying needs assessments and implementation plans. Strong knowledge of the principles around development, execution, and maintenance of a strategic plan is desired.  The successful candidate will have a background in continuous improvement using proven methods to analyze data for the purposes of addressing outcomes and making data driven decisions.  It is expected that this position will oversee multiple district offices and travel during various conditions will be needed.

Environmental Factors

Duties are generally performed in a standard office setting but some travel may be required. Involvement in fair hearing and court cases may occur as well as appearances before legislative committees.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in a human services related field, public or business administration, or economic development AND four (4) years or more of professional level managerial or program administration experience in a public or private organization in the areas of human services, community development, economic development, employment and training, or adult education INCLUDING two (2) years or more in an administrative capacity, including supervision of staff.

OR

Bachelor's degree in a human services related field, public or business administration or economic development AND six (6) years or more of professional level managerial or program administration experience in a public or private organization in the areas of human services, community development, economic development, employment and training, or adult education INCLUDING two (2) years or more in an administrative capacity, including supervision of staff.

OR

Associate's degree in a human services related field, public or business administration or economic development AND eight (8) years or more of professional level managerial or program administration experience in a public or private organization in the areas of human services, community development, economic development, employment and training, or adult education INCLUDING two (2) years or more in an administrative capacity, including supervision of staff.

OR

High School diploma AND nine (9) years or more of professional level managerial or program administration experience in a public or private organization in the areas of human services, community development, economic development, employment and training, or adult education INCLUDING two (2) years or more in an administrative capacity, including supervision of staff.

Preferred Qualifications

Direct supervision of at least 1 employee

Special Requirements

Candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position. AHS Policy 4.02, Hiring Standards, pursuant to 20 V.S.A. 2056c or other applicable statutory authority, requires criminal record checks for all AHS positions, including motor vehicle driving record checks and national record checks where appropriate.
