Overview
Buildings and General Services (BGS) at the State of Vermont is seeking candidates for the position of Custodian II. This position will be part of a team that will be taking care of daily cleaning duties of state owned or leased buildings and facilities in the Waterbury area. Duties include, but are not limited to: strip and wax floors, shampoo and perform carpet care, operate motorized floor care and/or ground care equipment, keeps inventory of supplies, notifies supervisor when repairs are needed, may perform grounds keeping, snow removal and recycling. Position will require successful completion of background checks and a valid driver's license.
This position will work 12pm to 8:30pm.

Environmental Factors
Duties are performed during an assigned shift at one or more state owned or leased buildings. Cleaning work often involves addressing bloodborne pathogens and other potentially infections material. Incumbents must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather. Good physical condition and ability to climb ladders and lift weights of up to 50-lbs. is necessary. Overtime and evening work may be required.
Minimum Qualifications
One (1) year or more of building custodial work that includes floor maintenance tasks such as stripping and waxing floors and carpet extraction.
OR
One (1) year as a BGS Custodian I.
Special Requirements
Some positions in this class require a valid driver’s license and own transportation for travel between work locations.
Candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position.
