Overview

The Business Application Support Specialist within the Child Development Division (CDD) will provide professional systems support, analysis, and troubleshooting for CDD's information systems including but not limited to the Child Development Divisions Information System (CDDIS) which is Salesforce based, support around multi factor authentication (MFA), OnBase, OKTA, etc. This position performs as lead subject matter expert in a help-desk like capacity to support systems users, and helps directs and manages the system-impact analysis of enhancement requests due to business process changes.

 

This position will also help with implement of the second phase of the Child Development Divisions Information System (CDDIS) which is the CDD Licensing and Credentialing.  The BASU specialist will assist with discovery, requirements gathering, testing in all capacities, documentation, training and guidance creation.  

 

Work is performed under the general direction of CDD's Business Applications Support Unit Manager.  All CDD staff perform their respective functions with the goal of ensuring that the division's work is client-centered, supports equitable outcomes, and is high-impact.  This is a hybrid office-based/remote position based at the Waterbury State Office Complex, although staff have the option of working on-site full-time.

Environmental Factors

Duties are performed largely in a standard office setting. Private means of transportation should be available for required travel. The role involves intensive interaction with departmental staff to include officials who may advocate strongly for their programs. Must be able to communicate and interact directly with employees at varying degrees of system skill sets as well as varying levels of authority. Conflicting priorities and operational problems may be anticipated; competing priorities and tight deadlines are a frequent occurrence.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree AND two (2) years technical level experience working in a business environment using an enterprise application system.

OR

Associates degree in business or computer science AND four (4) years experience at a technical level working in a business environment using an enterprise application system.

OR

Six (6) years experience at a technical level working in a business environment using an enterprise application system.
