Overview

Come join a team of dedicated and compassionate staff at a new 16-bed state-of-the-art Secure Residential Facility in Essex, Vermont.. You will play an essential role in the person-centered treatment of adults with severe mental illness. The facility is over 17,000 square feet with a separate full-size gymnasium. The new facility is scheduled to open in early April of 2023 and will be transitioning from the current 7-bed Secure Residential Program located in Middlesex, Vermont.

 

This role is responsible for oversite of administrative duties and office functions for the facility. This position is assigned supervising duties, participates in the interviewing and hiring of administrative staff, and is carried out under the general direction of the Director of the Secure Residential Facility. Assists in the formulation and recommendation of policies relative to management and may assist in the implementation of policies upon approval; Interprets rules, regulations and policies to all employees assigned to the office. Prepares and keeps complete inventory of all items purchased by the facility and will be responsible for budget development, analysis and ongoing monitoring to ensure compliance with budget limits. Maintains ledger of budgeted expenditures and makes recommendations and requests regarding needs.  Serves as liaison with administrative staff concerning office, fiscal and personnel matters. Represents office at various leadership meetings and keeps time and attendance records. Prepares and maintains facility records and reports and will potentially have an integral role in the implementation of a renew records system.

 

Mission:
The River Valley Therapeutic Residence (RVTR) aims to improve the health and well-being of Vermont's most vulnerable populations while focusing on psychiatric rehabilitation services and psychosocial treatment delivered in a recovery oriented, trauma informed, person-centered, holistic environment. The program offers a safe space to focus on recovery and community integration for those individuals no longer needing hospital level of care but who are not yet ready to transition back to the community. Telework:
During this time of transition, individuals will need to travel to Middlesex, Waterbury, and Berlin for training and shadowing. There may be some flexibility for remote work during this transition as well.

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent AND four (4) years or more of experience providing administrative-level support to a business or organization INCLUDING one (1) year or more in an accounting or budgeting function and experience as a supervisor of clerical or administrative staff.

OR

One year of full-time college level study in accounting, business or public administration, office administration or a related field AND three (3) years or more of experience providing administrative-level support to a business or organization INCLUDING one (1) year or more in an accounting or budgeting function and experience as a supervisor of clerical or administrative staff.

OR

Two years of full-time college level study OR an associate's degree or higher in accounting, business or public administration, office administration or a related field AND two (2) years or more of experience providing administrative-level support to a business or organization INCLUDING one (1) year or more in an accounting or budgeting function and experience as a supervisor of clerical or administrative staff.

OR

Three years of full-time college level study in accounting, business or public administration, office administration or a related field AND one (1) year or more of experience providing administrative-level support to a business or organization INCLUDING one (1) year or more in an accounting or budgeting function and experience as a supervisor of clerical or administrative staff.

OR

Four years of full-time college level study OR a bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, business or public administration, office administration or a related field.

OR

One (1) year or more as an Administrative Services Coordinator II with the State of Vermont

NOTE: Only administrative work experience is qualifying. Administrative support includes those functions which keep the organization running or provide the resources for others to provide the programmatic work (e.g., accounting, budget management, grant administration, finance, human resources, payroll, purchasing, or space management).

Special Requirements

For some positions experience working with the VISION system (VISION is the State of Vermont PeopleSoft financial management system) may be required.
