Overview

HireAbility Vermont is seeking a Regional Manager to lead and manage the delivery and evaluation of vocational rehabilitation services throughout the Barre and Morrisville area. Join a high-performing team of dedicated staff committed to helping people with disabilities become employed and advance in their careers. Duties involve extensive coordination and collaboration with other human services program directors from both the public and private sectors and with local business leaders. Supervision and oversight of professional, technical and clerical staff in two district offices within the assigned region.

 

Work is performed under the general direction of the Field Services Manager. Our ideal candidate has a strong background in disability and vocational services, has strong knowledge of field service delivery systems of human service programs, and has strong knowledge of economic activity and labor market conditions in the region. This position will work out of either the Morrisville or Barre offices.

Environmental Factors

Duties are performed primarily in a standard office setting using a hybrid work schedule. Significant travel will be required, for which private means of transportation may be required. Coverage of more than one office (usually two offices) is expected so strong organizational and time management skills are needed.  Work outside of normal office hours may be required. Interaction with other human services programs, particularly in co-located facilities, is frequent and required. Public speaking before business and community groups is expected.  

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in rehabilitation counseling or in psychology, social work, special education counseling, or another human services field of relevance to vocational rehabilitation AND three (3) years or more of experience at or above a professional level in a human services program, INCLUDING at least two (2) years working with people with disabilities or in a program serving people with disabilities AND Including or supplemented by at least one (1) year of managerial, supervisory, or program administrative responsibility.

 

OR

 

Bachelor's degree in rehabilitation counseling or in psychology, social work, special education counseling, or another human services field of relevance to vocational rehabilitation AND five (5) years or more of experience at or above a professional level in a human services program, INCLUDING at least two (2) years working with people with disabilities or in a program serving people with disabilities AND including or supplemented by at least one (1) year of managerial, supervisory, or program administrative responsibility.

Special Requirements

Candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position. In accordance with AHS Policy 4.02, Hiring Standards, Personnel Policy & Procedures, Vermont and/or national criminal record checks, as well as DMV and adult and child abuse registry checks, as appropriate to the position under recruitment, will be conducted on candidates, with the exception of those who are current classified state employees seeking transfer, promotion or demotion into an AHS classified position or are persons exercising re-employment (RIF) rights.
