Overview
Reach Up is one of ESD's benefits programs. It provides financial assistance and coaching services for Vermont families meeting income eligibility criteria. The program's mission is "Reach Up joins families on their journey to overcome obstacles, explore opportunities, improve their finances and reach their goals". Reach Up Case Managers (RUCM) provide mission-driven coaching to help families identify and meet their goals.
ESD is looking for someone to join this team who:
· will collaborate with families in a strength-based way through a coaching model

AHS BACKGROUND CHECKS: Candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position. Environmental Factors
Duties are performed in a community based setting and a standard office setting with travel to participating families' homes, work sites or other community locations and to meetings for which incumbents may be required to use either a state-provided vehicle or a private means of transportation. Considerable stress may be encountered in working with families in crisis, implementing mandated work activities in prescribed time frames and in potentially confrontational situations. Workload is usually heavy with a constant need for prompt accurate decisions. Incumbents must be able to work independently.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a human services, education and training or workforce development field AND one (1) year or more of experience involving direct client contact delivering case management services, or interpreting and applying rules and guidelines to make decisions regarding eligibility for programs and benefits in the fields described above (such as social services, education or employment programs).
OR
Associate's degree in a human services, education and training or workforce development field AND three (3) years or more of experience involving direct client contact delivering case management services, or interpreting and applying rules and guidelines to make decisions regarding eligibility for programs and benefits in the fields described above (such as social services, education or employment programs).
OR
High School diploma or equivalent AND five (5) years or more of experience involving direct client contact delivering case management services, or interpreting and applying rules and guidelines to make decisions regarding eligibility for programs and benefits in the fields described above (such as social services, education or employment programs)
OR
One (1) year or more as a Benefits Programs Specialist with the State of Vermont.
