Overview
Professional level accounting work in the maintenance, review and reconciliation of financial records to ensure compliance with accepted accounting principles and standards. May supervise technical accounting personnel and performs technical work in the maintenance of accounting and financial records, or perform functional supervision over two or more complex accounting functions. Analyzes financial reports, programs, costs, payments and/or accounting processes. Duties are performed under the general supervision of an administrative supervisor.
Candidates should have:
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Accounts payable knowledge
- Database management experience
- Logistics/Warehouse Operations, Inventory Management

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting, business/office administration.
OR
Associate's degree in accounting, business/office administration AND two (2) years or more of accounting experience maintaining, reviewing and analyzing financial data and records.
OR
High School diploma or equivalent AND three (3) years or more of accounting experience maintaining, reviewing and analyzing financial data and records.
OR
One (1) year or more of experience as a Financial Specialist III with the State of Vermont.
NOTE: All levels of required accounting experience, unless otherwise noted, must have been performed to ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and standar
Special Requirements
For some positions experience working with the VISION system (VISION is the State of Vermont PeopleSoft financial management system) may be required.
