Overview
The Agency of Human Services is seeking compassionate and dedicated Shelter Workers to join our team in Rutland, Vermont. Shelter Workers play a critical role in providing 24-hour support to individuals and families experiencing homelessness. This position requires a commitment to ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all shelter guests. Shelter Workers will assist in addressing guests' immediate needs, and documenting case management requirements, safety concerns, and rule violations. The ideal candidate will have effective communication skills, a desire for helping others, and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team. There will be three separate 8-hour shifts daily, a schedule will be created based upon the needs of the program.
Who May Apply
This position, Shelter Worker - Temporary (Job Requisition #51793), is open to all State employees and external applicants. This is a temporary position. Temporary work is typically for variable hours, and is not expected to be full-time. The State does not guarantee 40 hours of work per week.
