Do you have experience in plumbing, electrical, and heating? We are looking for a tradesperson with good mechanical skills to join our maintenance team at the Marble Valley Regional Correctional Facility (MVRCF) handling installation, repair and maintenance of buildings, systems, equipment, and machinery. Must have commercial construction or structural maintenance experience and be able to read and interpret blueprints, follow and communicate complex oral and written instructions and work within the guidelines of a secure facility. Experience with computerized systems and security systems helpful.

This position must pass a Department of Corrections background check.

Environmental Factors

Duties are performed at institutional facilities. Contact with inmates may be anticipated. Incumbents may encounter harassment or hostile behavior, and must be able to respond in a calm and professional manner. Must be able to climb ladders, lift weights up to 75 pounds, and work in cramped, wet, or poorly ventilated areas. Plumbing repairs often entail exposure to raw sewage, for which protective clothing must be worn. Work in all types of weather should be anticipated. May require possession of a valid driver's license. May require emergency response to calls outside of regular work hours. Some potential for physical injury may be present.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent AND three (3) years or more of experience in building construction, structural maintenance, or building repair and maintenance.


Completion of a one (1) year vocational/technical training program in building or construction trades, mechanical repair, industrial arts or closely related area AND two (2) years or more of experience in in building construction, structural maintenance, or building repair and maintenance


State licensure at or above the journeyman level in any trade area.
