Overview

We have a brand new, part-time unique opportunity for someone who is team-oriented, creative, and motivated to do meaningful work! Leverage your social media marketing and recruitment skills to support the Vermont State Police in their efforts to attract top talent in the law enforcement field. You will partner with a cross-functional team at the state to develop recruitment strategies that will communicate our mission and values and make Vermont a safer place for all. A background in military or law enforcement along with a post-secondary degree is preferred. Worksite location is in Pittsford, VT and telework will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

 

This position is currently approved through December, but it is highly likely it will be extended beyond that date.

This position, Recruitment Specialist (#36961), is open to all State employees and external applicants. This is a temporary position. Temporary work is typically for variable hours and is not expected to be full-time. The State does not guarantee 40 hours of work per week.

PUBLIC SAFETY BACKGROUND CHECKS: Candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position to include Motor Vehicle/Criminal Records, Personal History, Credit and any additional background check(s).

Environmental Factors

Work is performed in a standard office setting, career fairs, and/or classroom setting. Travel is anticipated for which private means of transportation must be available. On occasion, overnight travel may be required. Work outside of normal work schedule is required.  There may be considerable interaction with a variety of public audiences and strong difference of opinion may be encountered.

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent AND two (2) years or more of experience in marketing and public relations using digital social media and other media outlets which included recruitment marketing.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in candidate recruitment including screening and selection using behavioral interviewing techniques.

Military or law enforcement background.
Associates degree or higher.
Human Resources experience.
