The Vermont Criminal Justice Council (VCJC) is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the role of a Law Enforcement Community Inclusion Director for our Pittsford campus.


This position will serve as a subject matter expert on committees related to work in diversity, equity and inclusion, both within law enforcement as well as external stakeholders. The Director will oversee a Fair and Impartial Policing trainer, prepare reports, policies, and procedures related to equity and addressing systemic inequities. The work will be performed in a typical office setting with scheduled hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Some flex schedule time will be needed for offsite meeting or evening meetings with stakeholder groups.

Environmental Factors

Duties are carried out in a variety of settings but most frequently within a standard office, or classroom. Position duties may require performance outside of normal workdays and hours due to the nature of law enforcement training and culture shift. Flexibility is required and tight deadlines can occur. Strong and differing opinions may arise as to the nature, content, or method of delivery.

Minimum Qualifications

Three (3) or more years of experience with race, equity, and inclusion work within government or corporate environment AND three (3) or more years of experience designing and implementing organizational change initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or higher.
Experience with leading or supporting professional development, large group facilitation, and survey data tracking and/or analysis.

Special Requirements

Must be able to pass a background investigation applicable to the position.
