Overview
As a Wage and Hour Investigator in Vermont, you will investigate wage theft claims, analyze payroll records, conduct interviews, ensure legal compliance, document findings, collaborate with legal authorities, and engage in public outreach to uphold fair labor practices.
Who May Apply
This position, Wage and Hour Claims Examiner - Limited Service (Job Requisition #52190), is open to all State employees and external applicants. It is a Limited Service position, which is non-tenured and authorized for a specific period of time. Limited Service positions are established for specially funded projects or programs.

Environmental Factors
Duties are typically performed in a standard office setting. Some travel may be necessary for which private means of transportation should be available. Tact and diplomacy may be required when dealing with upset or hostile people.
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent AND four (4) years or more of office work experience INCLUDING one (1) year or more at a technical level in employment services, personnel administration, labor relations, job placement or employment counseling involving direct client contact.
OR
Two (2) years or more of college coursework in Public or Business Administration or a closely related field AND two (2) years or more of office work experience INCLUDING one (1) year or more at a technical level in employment services, personnel administration, labor relations, job placement or employment counseling involving direct client contact.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Vermont and Federal wage and hour and child labor laws.
Experience with the due process requirements of the Vermont Administrative Procedures Act.
