Overview
Under the Direction of the Executive Director, the Clerk provides administrative and legal support to the Vermont Labor Relations Board and staff.
Description
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Process and maintain electronic record of matters filed with the Vermont Labor Relations Board
- Conduct initial screening of petitions to ensure technically complete and conform with requirements and enter data associated with each case
- Record and upload hearings and coordinate with transcriptionists for preparation of transcripts
- Schedule hearings and prepare hearing room in advance of hearing
- Act as fiscal clerk maintaining office accounts
- Maintain VLRB website
- Answer phone, serve as receptionist, distribute mail, coordinate purchase and service of office machines, equipment and supplies
- Perform financial bookkeeping to be used in conjunction with budget planning, preparation and monitoring
- Attend and take minutes of Board meetings
- Work closely with the Executive Director and respond to inquiries from Board members

Compensation
This is a full-time exempt position. The starting rate is $21.17 to $26.45/hr.
As of July 1, 2025, the starting rate will be $21.91 to $27.35/hr.
Preferred Qualifications
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail and sound judgment, with the ability to exercise discretion in handling sensitive information. Proficiency in Adobe, Microsoft Word, and Excel is essential, along with solid writing and reading comprehension skills. Preferred qualifications also include the ability to upload documents to websites, manage multiple tasks effectively, and a willingness to learn and adapt to new systems and technologies.
