Class Definition
Technical work involving the processing and delivery of mail, the monitoring and ordering of supplies for the department and manual work involving the maintenance, safety and custodial care of the buildings and grounds. An employee in this class may hold a subject matter expertise in one or more of the four areas (shipping and receiving; procurement of supplies; building maintenance and safety; and custodial). Work is performed under the general supervision of the Administrative Services Director.
Environmental Factors
Duties are performed outdoors and inside state owned or leased buildings. Incumbent may be expected lift heavy weights up to 60lbs. Manual dexterity is needed to operate equipment and use tools. A valid drivers license is required. May require emergency response to calls outside of regular work hours. Some potential for physical injury may be present.
Minimum Qualifications
Two (2) years or more of building custodial, maintenance work, and/or postal operations in government or private industry.
