Overview

The Department of Financial Regulation seeks to hire a Staff Attorney. The Staff Attorney will work within the Department’s nine-member Legal Division to provide legal services to the Department. Assignments may include (1) legal counsel and regulatory support to the Commissioner, Deputy Commissioners, and Department staff, (2), drafting legislation, administrative rules, and bulletins, and (3) representing the Department in administrative proceedings.  Experience in insurance, banking, securities, and administrative law is highly desirable. Litigation experience is desirable but not required. 

 

Starting date is flexible, but early 2021 is desired. A cover letter, resume and writing sample are all required. This position may work a combination of remotely and in person.

 

This position is being filled at any level, I - IV.

Compensation

This Staff Attorney position is an exempt full-time position. Salary will be based upon qualifications and experience in accordance with the State of Vermont Attorney Pay Plan. Excellent benefits package and working environment.
