Don't miss this exciting opportunity for an intermediate level prosecuting attorney in the Vermont Secretary of State's Office of Professional Regulation!


You will assist three experienced prosecuting attorneys in representing the State of Vermont in the screening, evaluation, and prosecution of administrative complaints of unprofessional conduct for over 40 professions.  This position will be responsible for handling a vertical caseload, from the decision to charge through appeal, in a fast-paced work environment.


This position primarily focuses on litigation with a large and varied caseload.  Duties include attending investigative team meetings; working closely with investigators and law enforcement; all aspects of litigation, including discovery, motion practice, depositions, trial preparation, and final merits hearings before professional Boards and Administrative Law Officers; and more.  This position also handles appeals at both the administrative and State Supreme Court levels.

This position is a full-time, exempt position in Montpelier.  Salary and benefits will be based upon qualifications and experience in accordance with the Attorney Pay Plan.

Minimum Qualifications

A solid litigation background with a minimum of one to five years of prosecutorial or general civil/administrative litigation practice required.  Candidates must also have strong organizational skills; good legal research skills; clear, concise writing ability; and excellent communication skills.  Must be admitted to practice law in Vermont.
