Overview

The Re-Employment Assistance Program Coordinator is responsible for supervisory, administrative, and planning work for the Department of Labor involving the Reemployment Services and Eligibility Assessment (RESEA) Program. The incumbent will provide administrative and technical direction and coordinates volume of cases assigned to each team member, reviews work for technical accuracy. Duties include assignment of field cases, review of field cases for purposes of ensuring consistent application of the Unemployment Compensation law, procedures, precedents and policies, ensuring the timely completion of assignments, and management and coordination of federal quality review program relating to the RESEA Program. Supervision is exercised over RESEA staff including both Reemployment Services and Eligibility Assessment Facilitators.

 

This position currently has a limited service designation and is set to last through 12/31/2020. However, it is anticipated that in the near future the Department will designate the position as a permanent classified.

This position, Re-Employment Assistance Program Coordinator (Job Requisition #3643), is open to all State employees and external applicants. This is a Limited Service position, which is non-tenured and authorized for a specific period of time. Limited Service positions are established for specially funded projects or programs.

Environmental Factors

Duties are performed primarily in a standard office setting. Travel will be required for which private means of transportation must be available. Incumbents may be required to deal with angry claimants or employers on disputed claims.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree AND three (3) year or more in unemployment compensation, employment services, labor/industrial relations, or legal work OR in the field of human resources with a concentration in benefits or labor relation, investigation, or federal/state unemployment compensation laws and regulations INCLUDING one (1) year or more of direct supervisory experience.

OR

Associate's degree AND five (5) years or more in unemployment compensation, employment services, labor/industrial relations, or legal work OR in the field of human resources with a concentration in benefits or labor relations, investigation, or federal/state unemployment compensation laws and regulations INCLUDING two (2) years or more of direct supervisory experience.

OR

High School diploma or equivalent AND seven (7) years or more in unemployment compensation, employment services, labor/industrial relations, or legal work OR in the field of human resources with a concentration in benefits or labor relation, investigation, or federal/state unemployment compensation laws and regulations INCLUDING three (3) years or more of direct supervisory experience.
