Overview
The Vermont State Treasurer's Office seeks a detail-oriented and motivated individual to join our Unclaimed Property Division. This position performs technical and analytical work involving the maintenance of financial records and claims management data as part of a large, complex accounting and claims processing system.
The successful candidate will independently carry out duties within established policies and procedures, with oversight through periodic audits and record verification. Responsibilities include posting and reconciling holder reports and associated securities or cash; processing and recording claim disbursements; and performing accounting adjustments as needed.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational and analytical skills, attention to accuracy, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for interacting courteously and professionally with the public, financial institutions, and other stakeholders.
The Unclaimed Property Division is charged with locating rightful owners (or heirs) of financial property that has been escheated to the State. By effectively managing our inventory, database, and outreach efforts, this position plays a key role in fulfilling the Treasurer's mission of returning property to Vermonters.

This position, Program Technician III - Temporary (Job Requisition #53766), is open to all State employees and external applicants. This is a temporary position. Temporary work is typically for variable hours, and is not expected to be full-time. The State does not guarantee 40 hours of work per week.

Minimum Qualifications
Two years or more of full-time college coursework OR Associate's degree or higher AND three (3) years or more of experience above a technical level in program administration (such as administering components of a licensing and certification program, or records management).
OR
High School diploma or equivalent AND four (4) years or more of experience above a technical level in program administration (such as administering components of a licensing and certification program, or records management).
OR
Two (2) years or more of experience as a Program Technician II with the State of Vermont.
