Overview

The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the State-side Financials workstream, coordinating Finance leads and SMEs, tracking key decisions, risks, dependencies, and deliverables, and ensuring Finance resources are available to support design validation, testing preparation, training readiness, and implementation mobilization activities. Experience in project management across finance, accounting, procurement, grants, budgeting, or related financial functions, as well as the ability to manage dependencies across Finance, OCM, data, integrations, reporting, testing, and training is preferred.

The Agency of Digital Services (ADS) is seeking a Level IV Project Manager to join the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO). This role manages technology-related projects and collaborates with IT staff, subject matter experts, and program leaders to plan, organize, control, integrate, design, implement, and enhance information systems and services for the State of Vermont. Work is performed under limited supervision of a senior team member or Supervisor.

 

Project Managers at this level are responsible for creating, baselining, and executing project work plans, including scope, schedule, and cost, while revising plans as needed. Additional responsibilities include coordinating project resources; monitoring and controlling daily project activities; reviewing vendor and State deliverables; leading risk mitigation planning; performing document management and version control; conducting earned value management; tracking and developing project budgets; and preparing and presenting information to management or the legislature.
A fingerprint background check may be required based on position duties and/or work location.

Environmental Factors

Work is performed in a standard office setting, but some travel may be required for which private means of transportation should be available. Work outside of regular business hours may be expected.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Public Administration, Information Technology or a related field OR Certification as a Project Manager Professional (PMP) and Three (3) years or more of experience in the field of information technology where the primary role was project manager.


OR


Five (5) years or more of experience in the field of information technology where the primary role was project manager.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in business administration, public administration, information technology or project management.
