Overview

Enterprise Architects at this level work with guidance from more senior colleagues to design systems and translate functional business requirements into an application system or process to meet the clients' needs while satisfying relevant standards. Position reports to the State CTO or a more senior enterprise architect subject to the direction and oversight of the State CTO.

 

Typical duties include:

  • Writes programs (preferably in Python) and procedures according to specifications.
  • Tests and debugs completed program and procedures to locate and remove errors.
  • Maintains and updates the AWS Integration platform.
  • Must assist with migration of APIs on other Integration Platforms.  
  • Must comply with change management procedures.
  • Documents completed work.
  • Reviews description of changes to database design to understand how changes affect physical database (how data is stored in terms of physical characteristics such as location, amount of space, and access method).
  • Works to maintain the security of systems and data.
  • Performs related duties as required.

 

A fingerprint-supported background check may be required based on the assigned job duties and location.

Limited Service positions are established for specially funded projects or programs.

Environmental Factors

Work is performed in a standard office setting, but some travel may be required for which private means of transportation should be available. Work outside of regular business hours may be expected.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science AND one (1) year or more in IT architecture and design processes/constraints including design and management of physical/virtual platforms, application dependencies, system performance, failover and high availability mechanisms, capacity planning, network topology, application interoperability and service orientation frameworks and security/compliance standards such as NIST, IRS 1075, HIPAA.

 

OR

 

Associate's degree in computer science AND two (2) years or more in IT architecture and design processes/constraints including design and management of physical/virtual platforms, application dependencies, system performance, failover and high availability mechanisms, capacity planning, network topology, application interoperability and service orientation frameworks and security/compliance standards such as NIST, IRS 1075, HIPAA.

 

OR

 

High school diploma or equivalent AND four (4) years or more in IT architecture and design processes/constraints including design and management of physical/virtual platforms, application dependencies, system performance, failover and high availability mechanisms, capacity planning, network topology, application interoperability and service orientation frameworks and security/compliance standards such as NIST, IRS 1075, HIPAA.
