Overview

The Department of Human Resources (DHR) is seeking a Human Resources Analyst to serve in a unique role as a subject matter expert in the field of job evaluation, classification and compensation. We are looking for an analytical problem solver, who likes working with people as well as numbers and solving complex puzzles!  

 

In this position, you will provide highly complex classification consultation to all levels of the Executive Branch. You will analyze jobs to determine their proper classification, as well as determining the appropriate FLSA, EEO4, managerial designations, and similar job coding based on the job evaluation and collective bargaining agreement provisions. The Analyst will have the opportunity to lead statewide studies to establish new or revised job classes, develop and analyze information that impacts the state classification plan and consult with agencies regarding complex statewide classification issues, and perform special research projects. This position will also serve as liaison and provide support to one or more classification committees, advising department or agency reviewers and serving as a point of quality control and expertise. When necessary, you will participate in the grievance process, defending actions at all levels of that process.

 

DHR is poised to enter an exciting multiyear project to modernize its classification and compensation system and in this position, you'll be able to be play a critical and exciting role in that effort. 

 

DHR supports a hybrid work model and requests for some telework each week will be considered.

 

This position is classified as a Classification Analyst by the Department of Human Resources.

Environmental Factors

Duties are normally performed in a standard office setting. Some travel will be necessary for which private means of transportation must be available. Some work outside of normal work schedule may be required. Strong differences of opinion will be encountered on a regular basis.

Minimum Qualifications

Four (4) years or more of professional human resource experience INCLUDING interpreting and applying salary administration, employee relations, regulatory compliance, state and federal laws relating to employment practices and issues, or other personnel policies, criteria, and standards.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in job evaluation, quality assurance, or data analysis.
