The Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation is hiring a Grants Administrator. This position will join a small staff responsible for administering several outdoor recreation focused community grant programs. The incumbent will contribute as an important member of our small business office team. The ideal candidate brings proven financial and/or project management experience, Excel savvy, a positive professional approach, initiative, the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment, and shares an interest in the department's mission. This position is eligible for a flexible work schedule and significant telework, though occasional in-person staff collaboration is expected. Responsibilities include the following major job duties:
- Provide high volume administrative support for Grant Programs Manager to execute high quality State and Federal grant agreements by managing documents in multiple formats; and creating and maintaining complete and accurate digital storage files.
- Ability to ensure that compliance guidelines are successfully met in a fast-paced environment.
- Effectively manage all grant information (grantee details, start and end dates, funding sources, budget, scope of work) in various software programs. These include but are not limited to: VISION, Excel, SharePoint, Microsoft Suite, Grants Solutions, ASAP.gov, Adobe, and DocuSign.
- Ensure accuracy with financial reporting, payments, and closeout materials related to recreation grants.
- Actively participate with Grant Programs Manager/Business Office on process improvements and problem solving.
- Ability to collaborate and effectively communicate with a small working team.

It is a Limited Service position, which is non-tenured and authorized for a specific period of time. Limited Service positions are established for specially funded projects or programs.

Environmental Factors
Duties are performed primarily in a standard office setting. Duties may entail some work outside of normal office hours and some travel, for which private means of transportation must be available. Some pressure from deadlines may be anticipated.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree AND three (3) years or more at or above a technical level in the development, evaluation, administration, or fiscal monitoring of grants.
OR
Master's degree in public administration or accounting AND one (1) year or more at or above a technical level in the development, evaluation, administration, or fiscal monitoring of grants.
OR
Associate's degree (or two years of full-time college coursework) AND five (5) years or more at or above a technical level in the development, evaluation, administration, or fiscal monitoring of grants.
OR
High School diploma AND seven (7) years or more at or above a technical level in the development, evaluation, administration, or fiscal monitoring of grants.
