The Retirement Operations Division is currently hiring a Financial Administrator I. The primary function of the division is to serve the needs of the active contributing members and retired members receiving benefit payments. The Retirement Operations Division serves more than 54,000 active and retired members through three statutory pension plans. 

This position involves professional level accounting work in the maintenance, review and reconciliation of financial records to ensure compliance with accepted accounting principles and standards.  Performs technical work in the maintenance of accounting and financial records, or perform functional supervision over two or more complex accounting functions. Analyzes financial reports, programs, costs, payments and/or accounting processes.

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent AND three (3) years or more of accounting experience maintaining, reviewing and analyzing financial data and records.


Associate's degree in accounting, business/office administration AND two (2) years or more of accounting experience maintaining, reviewing and analyzing financial data and records.


Bachelor's degree in accounting, business/office administration.


One (1) year or more of experience as a Financial Specialist III with the State of Vermont.

NOTE: All levels of required accounting experience, unless otherwise noted, must have been performed to ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and standards.
