Overview

The Agency of Digital Services (ADS) is looking for an experienced Financial Administrator to join our business office team. The business office supports the financial operations of the agency through budget development and monitoring, accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, purchasing, vendor management and related operational functions of ADS.  Our mission is to work together with our partners in state government to deliver simple and intuitive technology solutions that improve the lives of the citizens of Vermont. As a Financial Administrator I, your duties will include:

• Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable functions (routing of invoices for approval, invoice processing, posting of wire payments)
• Coordination with vendors and purchasing agents
• Providing back-up support to other business office functions as needed
• Utilizing Vision, the State's Peoplesoft based financial management system

You'll work out of our Montpelier, VT office with a small team of finance and accounting professionals and will collaborate with other agency/department business offices and ADS staff. We are seeking candidates with a background in accounting and/or finance and a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, but additional years of work experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree may be qualifying.

This position, Financial Administrator I - Temporary (Part-Time) (Job Requisition # 44461), is open to all State employees and external applicants. This is a temporary position. Temporary work is typically for variable hours, and is not expected to be full-time. The State does not guarantee 40 hours of work per week.

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent AND four 4 years or more of accounting experience maintaining, reviewing and analyzing financial data and records. OR Associate's degree in accounting, business/office administration AND two 2 years or more of accounting experience maintaining, reviewing and analyzing financial data and records.

OR

Associate's degree INCLUDING 20 college credit hours in accounting AND one 1 year or more of accounting experience maintaining, reviewing and analyzing financial data and records. OR Bachelor's degree in accounting, business/office administration. OR Bachelor's degree INCLUDING 20 college credit hours in accounting AND one 1 year or more of accounting experience maintaining, reviewing and analyzing financial data and records.

OR

One 1 year or more of experience as a Financial Specialist III with the State of Vermont. NOTE: All levels of required accounting experience, unless otherwise noted, must have been performed to ensure compliance with GAAP Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and standards.

Special Requirements

For some positions experience working with the VISION system VISION is the State of Vermont PeopleSoft financial management system may be required.
