Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to provide business automation information technology services to two Agencies responsible for bolstering Vermont's economy while protecting and conserving Vermont's natural resources and environment which makes Vermont such a great place to live! This position is part of a fun team of 25 staff including .Net and GIS developers, server admins, and the end user support crew; all working together to provide IT services to the Agency of Natural Resources, the Natural Resources Board, and the Agency of Commerce and Community Development.  

 

The Vermont Agency of Digital Services seeks a developer to lead the support, development, and training of the State's enterprise content management and customer relationship management platforms. This position will be working in SharePoint Online, Office 365, and Salesforce solutions for managing documents, approval workflows, grant and case management workflows and associated documents.  

 

The Enterprise Platform Developer must have strong technical skills, demonstrating a commitment and ability to learn and develop in SharePoint Online, O365 apps, and Salesforce CRM as well as familiarity and knowledge of other ECM and CRM systems. Must have the ability to analyze and document client business processes to translate into definable IT products and/or services.   

 

What You Will Be Doing: 

  • Work with agency staff to elicit and document requirements and provide guidance on content organization, metadata taxonomy, document workflows, and grants and case management. 
  • Develop/maintain SharePoint Online components, including web parts, basic pages, lists, search, and workflows via Power Automate. 
  • Develop Salesforce grants and case management solutions. 
  • Collaborate with Agency of Digital Services IT developers, server administrators and other Agency staff on projects. 
  • Assist with project management and project reporting activities. 
     

The Ideal Candidate Will Have: 

  • SharePoint Online development experience building sites, lists, libraries, managed metadata, master pages, and workflows 
  • Salesforce platform familiarity and willingness to learn Salesforce development 
  • Familiarity with C#.NET, VB.NET, REACT, SQL Server Reporting Services is helpful (though not necessary) when collaborating with other developers 
  • Familiarity with Microsoft's Power Platform is favorable 
  • Excellent communication and organization skills to effectively meet with business stakeholders and customers
  • Project management and business analysis competencies to effectively manage projects as well as understanding and documenting business processes and requirements

Environmental Factors

Work is performed in a standard office setting and there is significant interaction with users and members of project teams requiring some tact and diplomacy to balance competing views. Work outside of regular work schedule can be anticipated.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science;

OR

Associate's degree in computer science or college-level coursework that includes 15 computer science credits AND two (2) or more years of experience in computer or network support, programming or analysis, or database administration.

OR

Four (4) or more years of experience in computer or network support, programming or analysis, or database administration.
