Overview
The Department of Labor is currently seeking an Employer Services Specialist. This position supports the employer community setting up unemployment insurance accounts, processing wage reports, processing payments, preparing refunds, calculating annual rates, providing outstanding customer service, and other important duties. The successful candidate will possess strong customer service skills, effective time management, and attention to detail. This position, Employer Services Specialist I - Limited Service (Job Requisition #34162), is open to all State employees and external applicants. It is a Limited Service position, which is non-tenured and authorized for a specific period of time. Limited Service positions are established for specially funded projects or programs.

Environmental Factors
Incumbents must be able to work with high volumes and under stressful federal performance expectations for quality and timeliness of all unemployment tax functions. Incumbents may encounter employers or their representatives who are uncooperative or angry during interactions involving their cost of unemployment tax, health care assessment, and/or misclassification penalty assessments. Workload volume will be extremely high at times.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree, including or supplemented by at least six credits in accounting.
OR
Associate's degree, including or supplemented by at least six credits in accounting AND two (2) years or more of fiscal work experience.
OR
High School diploma or equivalent AND four (4) years or more of fiscal work experience, INCLUDING two (2) or more at or above an Account Clerk level of responsibility.
