Overview

As a key member of the Secretary's leadership team at the Agency of Education, the Education Project Manager will oversee and direct targeted Agency projects, including attention to performance and process improvement efforts. The Project Manager will track project outcomes and engage in efforts to improve organizational productivity in alignment with the needs and objectives of the Agency.

 

Duties for this position include:

  • Applying change management processes/practices, systems theory and business management processes to monitor the alignment and integration of key Agency initiatives
  • Development and implementation of projects involving a large (personnel and financial) investment and multiple contributors
  • Work with Agency leadership in leading implementation, testing and change management efforts
  • Leading and organizing improvement efforts to maximize capacity and project productivity
  • Supporting senior management in the development and implementation of project plans and processes
  • Developing and implementing projects involving a large (personnel and financial) investment and multiple contributors
  • Fostering a culture of continuous improvement to strengthen Agency performance, outcomes and services
  • Building consensus and support among internal and external stakeholders for key project goals and outcomes

Environmental Factors

Work is performed in a standard office setting, but some travel may be required for which private means of transportation should be available. Work outside of regular business hours may be expected. Goal and result driven work schedule with related time and constituent pressures.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree AND two (2) years or more of professional experience in the education field, with knowledge of K-12 public education systems and education technologies at local or state level.

OR

Bachelor's degree AND four (4) years of professional experience in the education field, with knowledge of K-12 public education systems and education technologies at local or state level.
