The Vermont Agency of Education is seeking an innovative and organized professional to support the Consolidated Federal Programs team in promoting equity, success, and well-being for Vermont students. The Consolidated Federal Programs team helps to ensure the success of the state's most at-risk learners by managing the distribution of federal grant funds. The right candidate will enjoy a busy work environment that offers the opportunity to collaborate with diverse stakeholders at federal, state, and local levels.


Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist in the review and approval of federal grant applications for Vermont school systems, particularly Title I, Part A, which provides schools supplemental funds to serve students most at-risk of not meeting state standards.
  • Support needs across the Consolidated Federal Programs grant programs, including grants management tasks, such as the provision of routine technical assistance to the field via phone and email.
  • Support the monitoring of grant recipients for compliance with grant requirements.
  • Help in the development of technical assistance materials and tools to promote state and local compliance with program requirements.
  • Collect data from grant recipients needed for required federal reporting.
  • Collaborate with teams across the Agency in support of shared projects and program responsibilities.

Class Definition

Planning, administrative, consultative, and monitoring work at a professional level in providing education services. Extensive interaction occurs with other Department staff members, local school officials, and education professionals. Project assignments of a department-wide nature may occur.

Environmental Factors

Normal office working conditions generally prevail. Incumbent must be able to interact, work, and deal with department staff, educators, state, federal, and local officials, and the general public. Evening and weekend work may be required. Considerable travel is necessary for which an incumbent must possess private means of transportation.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree AND four (4) years or more of professional level work experience in a field related to teaching or provision of educational support services.


Master's degree AND three (3) years or more of professional level work experience in a field related to teaching or provision of educational support services.
