Overview

The Green Mountain Care Board (GMCB) seeks a self-directed leader to work with the Green Mountain Care Board (GMCB) and the Board's staff to lead the development of modernization strategies to improve and streamline its data assets analyses that support monitoring and evaluation of health care reform efforts across Vermont.

 

The Deputy Director of Data & Analytics will lead the GMCB's Analytical Team which strives to produce actionable, timely and relevant information in support of GMCB's regulatory duties and for a variety of other audiences. This position will collaborate with intra-agency teams as well as statewide efforts to enrich Vermont's health care data ecosystem and will be responsible for assessing and improving quality, efficiency, and interoperability of all GMCB's data assets for intake and dissemination within the organization as well as for production of public reports, directing data flow and analytical services to support the Boards regulatory duties, developing automated workflows, and liaising with contractors on technical specifications to ensure production of highest quality output. This position supports other GMCB duties including the data governance council and payment reform activities. It is anticipated that this position will have supervisory duties.

This position is classified as a Director Data Management Analysis & Data Integrity by the Department of Human Resources.

Environmental Factors

Duties are performed principally within standard office settings. Some field travel may be necessary, for which private means of transportation should be available. Evening, weekend, or overtime duty may be anticipated. Extensive interaction and differences of opinion with administrators and technical personnel, both within and outside state government, can be anticipated.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in finance, statistics, mathematics, public or business administration, or related field AND four (4) years or more of experience in statistics, data research and analysis, which includes experience with financial modeling, and/or caseload modeling.

OR

Seven (7) years or more of experience in finance, statistics, data research and analysis, which includes experience with financial modeling, and/or caseload modeling.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree.

Candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position.
