Overview

The Department of Liquor and Lottery is seeking an experienced manager to lead the Division of Liquor Control (DLC) within the Department of Liquor and Lottery. The ideal candidate will have a wide range of experiences and skills including: an advanced understanding of the beverage alcohol industry as well as senior management and budgeting experience. The candidate must have the ability to perform business analytics and lead a senior management team in the areas of business, policy and procedural development. The candidate must have the ability to quickly learn and understand the DLC’S regulatory functions in the areas of compliance and enforcement, licensing and education. A high level of proven business acumen is required. Having worked as a supervisor or manager operating under a union contact is desirable. Also desirable is experience in the legislative arena.


Additionally, the preferred candidate will have a general understanding of standard business practices in the operation and management of warehousing, logistics, marketing and retail operations.   

 

This position will work closely with the Commissioner of the Department of Liquor and Lottery to effectively manage a retail and distribution business model within State government. A professional background in the beverage alcohol industry would be helpful in providing the necessary tools and prospective to effectively interface with both local, domestic and international product manufacturers, the Governor’s administration, industry members and the general public.
