Overview
The Vermont Department of labor is seeking a motivated individual with strong communication and organizational skills who communicates effectively to a variety of audiences. An interest incumbent will need the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities. This role involves drafting communications and other written materials on various Unemployment Insurance (UI) related subjects for the general public, UI claimants and employers. The UI program is highly regulated and technical. The Communication Coordinator must draft material that communicates federal requirements in a way that the reader will understand them. Types of communication include reports, press releases, social media posts, notices, letters, and email blasts.

Environmental Factors
Duties are performed in an office setting. Incumbent must have available private transportation for completion of field assignments on a timely basis. Weekend and evening duty may be anticipated. Certain promotional activities, required convention attendance, etc. may require overnight stays away from home.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, advertising, English, or technical and business writing AND two (2) years or more of experience in communications, public or media relations, marketing, policy writing, or consumer education.
OR
Four (4) years or more of experience in communications, public or media relations, marketing, policy writing, or consumer education.
