Overview

We are looking for a cloud infrastructure engineer who loves to work with an awesome team!  Cloud Infrastructure Engineers generally work with numerous public & private cloud systems, hardware, software, agencies, and other technical staff, and often need to do field analysis and maintenance at our data centers. Your responsibilities will include maintaining, upgrading and improving operating environments, creating repair strategies, and providing technical support and training for users.


Successful cloud infrastructure engineers should have good communication and collaboration skills, excellent analytical, problem-solving, time-management skills, and be security focused. Ideal candidates will also have advanced knowledge in VMWare maintenance and/or Azure/AWS/GCP management.

 

Cloud Infrastructure Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with engineering, development, and security teams to evaluate and identify optimal cloud solutions.
  • Modifying and improving existing systems in Public & Private clouds.
  • Educating teams on the implementation of new cloud technologies and initiatives.
  • Designing, developing, and deploying modular cloud-based systems.
  • Developing and maintaining cloud solutions in accordance with best practices.
  • Ensuring efficient functioning of data storage and processing functions in accordance with state security policies and best practices in cloud security.
  • Identifying, analyzing, and resolving infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues.
  • Regularly reviewing existing systems and making recommendations for improvements.
  • Interacting with clients, providing cloud infrastructure support, and making recommendations based on client needs.
  • Respond to technical issues in a professional and timely manner.
  • Offer guidance in infrastructure movement techniques including bulk application transfers into the cloud.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor with clients and colleagues.


Cloud Engineer Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of experience in the field of cloud computing.
  • Advanced experience with System Operations.
  • Strong networking skills.
  • Azure, AWS, and GCP certifications preferred.
  • VMWare management experience preferred.
  • Advanced troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills.
  • Client management skills.

Environmental Factors

Work is performed in a standard office setting, but some travel may be required for which private means of transportation should be available. Work outside of regular business hours may be expected.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science AND two (2) years or more in IT architecture and design processes/constraints including design and management of physical/virtual platforms, application dependencies, system performance, failover and high availability mechanisms, capacity planning, network topology, application interoperability and service orientation frameworks and security/compliance standards such as NIST, IRS 1075, HIPAA.

OR

Associate's degree in computer science AND four (4) years or more years or more in IT architecture and design processes/constraints including design and management of physical/virtual platforms, application dependencies, system performance, failover and high availability mechanisms, capacity planning, network topology, application interoperability and service orientation frameworks and security/compliance standards such as NIST, IRS 1075, HIPAA.

OR

High school diploma or equivalent and six (6) years or more in IT architecture and design processes/constraints including design and management of physical/virtual platforms, application dependencies, system performance, failover and high availability mechanisms, capacity planning, network topology, application interoperability and service orientation frameworks and security/compliance standards such as NIST, IRS 1075, HIPAA
