Overview

The Cannabis Control Board (CCB) is seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our collaborative and dedicated team in the role of a Compliance & Enforcement Agent II. This position will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with Vermont's cannabis rules and statues in support of the overall mission and vision of the Board.

 

This role involves a mix of analytical, interpersonal, and compliance-focused responsibilities, including:

  • Conducting inspections and investigations of cannabis establishment applicants and licensees within an assigned territory.
  • Assessing compliance with cannabis laws and regulations.
  • Investigating complaints, responding to licensee inquiries, and collaborating in team meetings.
  • Using inspection software tools to report, record, and analyze inspection findings.
  • Delivering clear, accurate, and concise summaries of investigation results both verbally and in writing.
  • Contributing to program development and creating educational materials.
  • Review product registration submissions and ensure compliance.
  • Support licensees by answering questions and providing guidance on inventory tracking systems.
  • Schedule and manage inspections and investigations across all cannabis license types with a focus on areas with a high density of licensees.
  • Collect product samples and deliver them to the lab for analysis, use standardized forms and tools consistently for inspections and reports.
  • Collaborate with CCB personnel, other state agencies, cannabis licensees and applicants, and the general public.

 

The CCB is a small agency with a big mission, and we're looking for a candidate with enthusiasm, adaptability, and a strong work ethic. This position requires regular travel throughout Vermont, including significant distances, and work is primarily performed during site visits and from home. Significant work outside normal office hours may also be required.

Environmental Factors

Duties are largely performed from home and during site-visits. Travel in state required.   Significant work outside of normal office hours may be required.

Minimum Qualifications

Four (4) years or more of experience in cannabis manufacturing or cultivation, food or product manufacturing, compliance and enforcement, horticulture, or laboratory technician work.
