Overview

Buildings and General Services (BGS) at the State of Vermont has an exciting opportunity as a BGS Master Plumber in Montpelier on the historic Capital Complex. In this position, you will be maintaining the plumbing building systems around the complex. You will be providing a service for our tenants and cliental of properly maintaining a building and the infrastructure. This position requires a valid driver's license and successful completion of multiple background checks.


This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 4:00pm. Starting salary may be negotiable based on experience and education, with a starting salary range of $24.02 to $29.68 per hour.

Environmental Factors

Duties are performed at state buildings including correctional facilities and psychiatric care facilities. Contact with inmates and patients may be anticipated. Incumbents may encounter harassment or hostile behavior and must be able to respond in a calm and professional manner. Must be able to climb ladders, lift weights up to 75 pounds, and work in cramped, wet, or poorly ventilated areas. Plumbing repairs may entail exposure to raw sewage, for which protective clothing must be worn. This position may require emergency response to calls outside of regular work hours. Some potential for physical injury may be present. Position requires possession of a valid driver's license.

Minimum Qualifications

Must possess a current valid State of Vermont Master Plumber's License.
