Overview

Do you love a challenge? Are you detail oriented? Can you manage multiple and competing priorities? The Department of Labor Division of Unemployment Insurance is looking for an Operations Manager to join our team. This is a leadership position that will be tasked with overseeing the Division’s Unit Managers to ensure efficient and effective daily operations.

The successful applicant will have proven experience in process reengineering using Lean tools, identifying and reporting on key performance indicators, creating and managing documentation associated with program and efficiency projects, creating effective working relationships, and supervision of program staff.  

We are in search of a self-starter with enthusiasm for problem-solving and a can-do attitude. This position is challenging, yet rewarding, and requires expert management skills to work within a demanding and detailed program.

Work is performed in a standard office setting.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting, business or public administration, office administration or a related field AND three (3) years or more of experience providing professional administrative-level services to a business or organization which included an accounting or budgeting function and experience as a supervisor of clerical or administrative staff.
OR
Bachelor's degree in any discipline AND five (5) years or more of experience providing professional administrative-level services to a business or organization which included an accounting or budgeting function and experience as a supervisor of clerical or administrative staff.
OR
Associate's degree in accounting, business or public administration, office administration or a related field AND five (5) years or more of experience providing professional administrative-level services to a business or organization which included an accounting or budgeting function and experience as a supervisor of clerical or administrative staff.
OR
High School diploma AND seven (7) years or more of experience providing professional administrative-level services to a business or organization which included an accounting or budgeting function and experience as a supervisor of clerical or administrative staff.
OR
One (1) year or more of experience as an Administrative Services Manager II with the State of Vermont.
