Overview

Are you passionate about Vermont food and agriculture? The Administration Division inside The Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food & Markets (VAAFM) is seeking an Administrative Services Manager II to oversee the Agency's grants and contracts, as well as procurement and audit functions within the VAAFM Business Office.  

 

The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert on State of Vermont Bulletins 3.4, 3.5, and 5. This position will work closely with the various divisions on grants and contracts as well as the assigned Assistant Attorney General to the Agency.  This position is responsible for the Agency's annual Granting Plan, documenting and analyzing Agency procedures and risks, and providing training and guidance to Agency staff on mitigating procurement risks.  The position will serve as an extension of the business office and assist where needed.

 


Prior audit experience, knowledge of grants and contracts, VTBuys, VISION, and Excel are preferred.  Work is performed in a standard office setting and under the general direction of the Financial Director IV.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree AND four (4) years or more of experience providing professional administrative-level services to a business or organization which included an accounting or budgeting function and experience as a supervisor of clerical or administrative staff.

 

OR

 

Bachelor's degree in accounting, business or public administration, office administration or a related field AND two (2) years or more of experience providing professional administrative-level services to a business or organization which included an accounting or budgeting function and experience as a supervisor of clerical or administrative staff.

 

OR

 

High school diploma AND six (6) years or more of experience providing professional administrative-level services to a business or organization which included an accounting or budgeting function and experience as a supervisor of clerical or administrative staff.

 

OR

 

Associate's degree in accounting, business or public administration, office administration or a related field AND four (4) years or more of experience providing professional administrative-level services to a business or organization which included an accounting or budgeting function and experience as a supervisor of clerical or administrative staff.

 

OR

 

One (1) year or more of experience as an Administrative Services Manager I with the State of Vermont.

 

NOTE: Only administrative work experience is qualifying. Administrative services includes those functions which keep the organization running or provide the resources for others to provide the programmatic work (e.g., accounting, budget management, grant administration, finance, human resources, payroll, purchasing, or space management).

Special Requirements

For some positions experience working with the VISION system (VISION is the State of Vermont PeopleSoft financial management system) may be required.
