Overview

The Administrative Coordinator provides high-level administrative support to a department manager, including coordination and assistance for programs, boards, or committees overseen by the Court Administrator’s Office. This role involves frequent interaction with internal staff across divisions as well as external stakeholders.

 

Work is performed under the general supervision of an administrative superior, with a significant degree of collaboration and independent judgment required in day-to-day activities. Responsibilities are primarily assistive in nature, focused on enhancing the effectiveness and capacity of professional and managerial staff, including attorneys.

Description

Plans and executes the administrative activities of a department or program. 

Installs and develops administrative procedures customized to the needs of the department and programs and groups supported.

Reviews office operating procedures and policies, recommends improvements where appropriate.

Performs office management, forms design and reproduction, process invoices, purchasing, and other duties as assigned.

Prepares various statistical, financial and special reports.

Where applicable, performs complex and professional tasks such as liaison with data processing staff, confidential investigations, licensing procedures and operations manuals, and others.

Serves as point of contact for outside entities when interpreting and applying policies, rules and regulations of considerable complexity in a diplomatic way.

Collaborates with division and department leadership on large-scale initiatives as needed.

Responsible for all duties defined and other duties as assigned such as training other employees.

The job entails the operation of various types of electronic equipment and new equipment may be introduced at any time.

Scheduled hours of work generally conform to public court hours, but assignments may extend beyond those hours. Occasional travel to other courts within the State of Vermont may be required. Travel will be reimbursed according to State policies. Job Code # 26018

Compensation

Starting salary is $25.98 per hour.  This position will be eligible for longevity increases in accordance with the State step pay plan and annual cost of living increases as enacted by the Vermont State Legislature.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree and two years’ experience providing complex administrative level support.

OR

 

Associate's degree and four years’ experience providing complex administrative-level support.
