Overview

The chosen applicant will assist in daily rearing activities of salmonids and walleye. Rearing activities include but are not limited to: egg care, cleaning tanks, picking mortality, feeding fish, assisting in stock out activities, assisting in spawning activities, administering fin clips, monthly length and weight assessments.

 

Activities will also include but are not limited to grounds and facility maintenance, this incudes:

  • Mowing
  • Weed whacking
  • Pressure washing
  • Equipment upkeep
  • Janitorial duties
  • Vehicle operation and maintenance

 

The candidate must be 18 years old, a US citizen with a valid driver's license. Additionally, the candidate should be physically fit and comfortable working outside in varying weather conditions.

 

Experience working with fish or aquaculture systems, as a farm hand, operating hand and power tools, mowers/weed whackers or other mechanical equipment is preferred but not required.

This position, Environmental Assistant C - Temporary (Job Requisition #54665), is open to all State employees and external applicants. This is a temporary position. Temporary work is typically for variable hours, and is not expected to be full-time. The State does not guarantee 40 hours of work per week.
