Overview

The Woodside Juvenile Rehabilitation Center is seeking a Per Diem Registered Nurse to join our team.  The Nurse position opening affords applicants an opportunity to join a multidisciplinary team providing best practices, both psychiatric and medical, to a population of adjudicated youth.  Woodside utilizes a strength based, goal directed, family/youth centered model.  Our mission is to provide opportunity for youth to change those criminogenic risk factors that require placement in Vermont's most secure residential treatment facility for youths.  The nursing/medical team provides coverage days and evenings with both direct services and consultation to a multidisciplinary team.    The incumbent will work closely with the administration, line staff, treating pediatrician and psychiatrist.

This is a temporary position. Temporary work is typically for variable hours, and is not expected to be full-time. The State does not guarantee 40 hours of work per week.

Minimum Qualifications

Possession of (or eligible for) licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Vermont AND two (2) years or more of professional nursing experience in the nursing specialty.

NOTE: Must maintain Vermont licensure as a Registered Nurse as a condition of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Special Requirements

Overtime work is required to maintain minimum staffing levels and for unannounced regulatory inspections and is considered a condition of employment. The ability to work overtime when required is an essential function of this job class.
