Overview

The Department of Buildings & General Services (BGS) at the State of Vermont has an exciting opportunity with room for growth as an Administrative Services Coordinator I within the Operations & Maintenance Division. This position coordinates administration of a variety of functions such as assisting administrators in the preparation of personnel documents. The Coordinator will work with administrative staff concerning office, fiscal and personnel matters. The position will prepare and maintain office records and reports, and will process invoices and credit card transactions. The Coordinator will work with both internal and external customers, and ideally will have experience with finance, customer service, and the ability to multi-task. 

 

This position is located in Colchester and the hours are 7am to 3:30pm. This position may be eligible to telework up to two days per week, depending on approval and the needs of the Department.

Environmental Factors

Work is performed in a standard office setting.

Minimum Qualifications

Two (2) years of full-time college coursework OR and associate's degree in accounting, business or public administration, office administration or closely related field.

OR

One (1) year of full-time college coursework in accounting, business or public administration, office administration or closely related field AND one (1) year or more of experience providing administrative-level support to a business or organization.

OR

High School diploma or equivalent AND two (2) years or more of experience providing administrative-level support to a business or organization.

OR

One (1) year or more of experience as an Administrative Services Technician IV with the State of Vermont.

 

NOTE: Only administrative work experience is qualifying. Administrative support includes those functions which keep the organization running or provide the resources for others to provide the programmatic work (e.g., accounting, budget management, grant administration, finance, human resources, payroll, purchasing, or space management).

Preferred Qualifications

A valid driver's license is preferred.

Special Requirements

For some positions experience working with the VISION system VISION is the State of Vermont PeopleSoft financial management system may be required.
