The Agency of Transportation is seeking a District Administrative & Technical Assistant IV to assist the Administrative Services Coordinator with various administrative duties. The Assistant will be responsible for customer service to include answering the phone and any walk-ins, processing invoices, and verifying payroll. The position also provides support in training our new employees on software applications, assisting them in working through online training course, and is the initial contact for technical support with computer and phone issues.

Environmental Factors

Duties are performed in a standard office setting. Some maintenance work on assigned equipment may be necessary. Frequent field trips to district garages to provide training to new users may be anticipated. Considerable interaction with co-workers and computer support staff is anticipated. Some pressure from deadlines may occur.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent AND four (4) years of experience providing administrative-level support to a business or organization. 


Associate degree or higher in accounting, business, office administration or closely related field INCLUDING two (2) years or more experience providing administrative level support to a business or organization OR two (2) years or more of experience computer or network support, programming or analysis, or database administration including one or more of the following: (1) assisting in the assembly, installation and configuration of hardware and software applications, or (2) customer support / training in use of computer systems and answering common questions and troubleshooting to resolve computer hardware, software and user issues.


Two (2) years or more as an AOT District Administrative & Technical Assistant III. 


NOTE: Only administrative work experience is qualifying. Administrative support includes those functions which keep the organization running or provide the resources for others to provide the programmatic work (e.g., accounting, budget management, grant administration, finance, human resources, payroll, or purchasing).
