Overview

The Health Data Administrator is responsible for professional work involving data collection, aggregation, and submission and ensuring quality of data management systems for specific programs within the Department of Health. Main areas of responsibility include establishing, maintaining and updating program specific data management systems and insuring common standards are met and maintained; reconciling conflicting efficiency needs; and supporting the data and evaluation needs of chronic disease prevention and management programs. The position is responsible for implementation, operation and maintenance of integrated electronic and paper database systems. Duties are performed under the supervision of an administrative supervisor. All employees of the Agency of Human Services perform their respective functions adhering to four key practices: customer service, holistic service, strengths-based relationships and results orientation.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Good knowledge of database languages and techniques such as database design, routine maintenance and database integration.
Ability to prepare clear and concise technical documentation.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, including providing technical support to database users and making data presentations to small and large groups of people.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Ability to perform job duties within the framework of the four key practices of the Agency of Human Services: customer service, holistic service, strengths-based relationships and results orientation.

Environmental Factors

Duties are performed in a standard office setting. Considerable interaction with Information Technology Section, users, and other department staff is involved.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree AND one (1) years or more experience in a public health or health care setting conducting data management, data analysis, and writing reports.

OR

Bachelor's degree AND two (2) years or more experience in a public health or health care setting conducting data management, data analysis, and writing reports.

OR

Associate's degree AND four (4) years or more experience in a public health or health care setting conducting data management, data analysis, and writing reports.

OR

Six (6) years or more experience in a public health or health care setting conducting data management, data analysis, and writing reports.
