Overview

The Vermont Veterans’ Home (VVH) is seeking multiple candidates for Veteran Buddy positions. The main duty of this position is to provided one-on-one assistance to veterans and members at the VVH who may need supervision and/or additional support throughout the day. The schedule will vary based on the needs of the facility at the current time and will include some weekends.

Candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position, including Vermont and national criminal record checks, adult and child abuse registry checks, the Office of Inspector General exclusion database, and motor vehicle driving record checks where applicable.

 

This is a temporary position. Temporary work is typically for variable hours, and is not expected to be full-time. The State does not guarantee 40 hours of work per week.

Environmental Factors

Employees in this class will be expected to work in any of the assigned sections; assignments may vary on a daily basis. This class is utility in nature and employees must be flexible in changing from one type of work and location to another on short notice. Considerable standing, walking, and lifting, and carrying of heavy objects may be required. Incumbents must be prepared to drive a vehicle in all types of weather.
